The Perfect Summer Dress

Oh my goodness, it has been a hectic month! From having family in town to weekend travels, it’s been challenging to find time to shoot and write but I’m back and so ready to share some fresh content. This was the first time I have done a photoshoot at the beach so I was kind of nervous considering how crowded it was but we lucked out and found an abandoned lifeguard station. I love the blue hues (minus the chicken scratch graffiti) but it was fun to try something new. We honestly didn’t know whether or not we’d get kicked out considering the “Keep off” signage but we took the chance and I’m kind of obsessed with these shots.

I recently got sent this dress from a brand called Clayton and I have seriously been wearing it non-stop. I actually never heard of the brand before they reached out to me but I was surprised when I saw them on sites like Revolve and Shopbop. Then I wondered to myself how I could have possibly missed them because so many of their pieces are right up my alley. I love how chic and minimalistic some items are while others are super trendy and definitely statement pieces. As the weather has been heating up, I’ve been turning to flowy pieces and this dress has definitely been my go-to this summer. I recently went on a weekend trip to Palm Springs and this was all I wanted to wear.

The dress has a lot of great details that make it easy to wear for any occasion. It’s also double lined so you don’t have to worry about anything peeking through but still feels lightweight and breathable. Even the front slit is understated but adds a little something extra so you get that movement. It’s very comfortable and forgiving for when you want to hide those food babies which is a definite win in my book. I got a small and though I had to slightly alter the straps shorter, the dress fits me perfectly. I have another trip booked to Hawaii and I already know this is coming with me. I love how I can pair it with heels to dress it up but I’ve also worn it with sandals for a more relaxed look.

Hope your summer has been filled with lots of adventure! I can’t wait to share some of my travels and outfit inspiration in the next few weeks. Let me know what you think of the dress in the comments below.
