Winter Florals

Happy February! Last month really flew by for me and I’m happy to say that I am actually sticking to my New Year’s resolutions. In addition to blogging more, another promise I made to myself for 2017 is being more conscious of my finances and that for me means being more mindful of what I spend my money on. With that said, I am sticking to buying one thing for myself a month so at the end of the year I only have 12 new things. I know… it’s really hard. For January, I bought a new pair of Lululemon yoga pants that I’ve pretty much living in (coming to the blog soon). I’m hoping to keep it up despite the temptations of all the things on my mental wishlist!

L.A. has been experiencing some moody weather lately with lots of clouds and occasional showers so I’m definitely looking forward to spring which is right around the corner. I’m typically a basics kind of girl so this maxi dress was definitely a little bit of an experimental piece for me but I couldn’t resist the floral print. And hey, sometimes a girl likes to get a little dressed up. I feel like I’ve been seeing a lot of floral accents this season particularly on designers like Gucci. I like how the print is actually on black so it’s an easy piece to transition from winter to spring. It’s a very flowy material and I love the little slit details that help break up the print because who doesn’t like to show a little leg?

Oh and these shoes! I’ve been eyeing these babies for about a year now and my boyfriend gifted them to me over Christmas. I love Jeffrey Campbell’s shoes and these are so comfortable with the soft leather soles and suede exterior. I fell in love with the lace-up details and how they give off that edgy vibe but they do have a zipper on the back for easy access. They’re great for day and night and pretty much go with just about any outfit which is a win in my book so I’ll definitely be styling them more throughout the year.
