In The Trenches
Happy Holidays everyone! Can you believe it? I swear I blinked and 11 months just passed by. December has been a pretty hectic month so far with work and preparing for the holidays. I’ve been trying to be good and avoid buying things for myself even though I admittedly have fallen into the “one-for-you and one-for-me” trap. Like every other person in the world I’m counting down the days until Christmas day so I can go back home to Seattle (even though I was just there). More importantly, I’m excited to get some holiday time off from work 😉
This trench coat has been sitting in my closet all summer because it was too hot to wear until recently. I never owned a proper trench coat before and even though this doesn’t really count it’s perfect for the fall and winter weather in L.A.. It’s breathable so I’m able to wear it into spring and the material is super soft. Unlike traditional trenches, it doesn’t have a collar but I actually kind of like that.
Whoever said leggings aren’t pants obviously didn’t know about Topshop’s leather leggings. I’ve seen a lot of leather pants and leggings lately but had to be careful with choosing the right pair. I like that these are pretty matte so the leather is actually a little subdued which is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve worn them a couple times now and they haven’t stretched so they fit the same with every wash. I’ve been reaching for these every chance I get with the recent drop in temperature and they’re definitely going in my suitcase for Seattle. They’re super chic and easy to transition from day to night.
If you know me, you know I’m a big shoe person but I also like to splurge on handbags. I always appreciate a well-made bag because it’s just one of those things that will last you a long time. A couple posts back, I referenced how I’ve been drawn to red things and this bag is no exception. The bag pictured is the Givenchy Antigona Medium Leather Satchel in smooth calfskin. I love how it has very minimal embellishments and adds a really nice pop of color to any outfit.
