It’s always a good feeling going home for the holidays. I flew up to Seattle on Tuesday to spend Thanksgiving with my family and can’t believe how cold it is here. After living in L.A. for so many years you forget what 40° weather feels like. But in all honesty, it’s nice to get away from constant sunny days and experience fall in full force.

My friends and I spent the day before Thanksgiving in downtown Seattle visiting the Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room and strolling Pike Place Market. Every time I come back to visit I feel like a tourist wanting to hit all the must-see spots. In case you haven’t visited Seattle before, you have to go! Seattle is probably one of the best cities you’ll ever visit (of course I’m biased) but everyone I know always say the people are extremely nice. There are always new foodie spots popping up so if anything you can always eat your way through the city which is what I always end up doing.

I love Seattle for a lot of reasons and the fact that you actually get to experience all four seasons is definitely one of them. I’ll admit that I prefer being cold over hot any day. I also think that cold weather attire is cuter so I tend to do more shopping in preparation for fall than any other season… Oops? I bought this jacket on sale at the end of winter last year so it was a major steal. It’s basically saved me while I’ve been here. This coat isn’t available online at BR anymore but their outerwear pieces are generally really great quality if you’re in the market for a nice fall/winter jacket.

I actually didn’t properly pack for the weather on the way up so I ended up having to borrow this sweater from my sister and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. The lace trim adds a really nice peek-a-boo detail to the overall look and gives the appearance of layering. I’m pretty sure it’ll be one of my pick ups during Cyber Monday this year. Heeled booties are a fall staple to spruce up any outfit and the ones pictured are my go-to’s. I’ve had them for years so they’re super broken in and pretty comfortable even with the 4 inch heel which made them perfect for walking around all afternoon.
